We are gearing up for a great year. The next new member class is forming now with the first training in early September. We will be hosting several informational events over the summer. These events are casual get-togethers at members’ homes. We will talk about the League in general and provide some specifics on what a new member can expect during her first year.

1. Community Service
Have you been looking for a way to start or a different way to continue volunteering in your community?
For over 75 years, Junior League of Oakland-East Bay, Inc. (JLOEB) has been recognized as a powerful force for change and an organization committed to assisting the needs of the community.

Are you new to the Oakland and East Bay area? Are you a long time resident who is looking for a way to connect to her community? Do you want to meet other motivated women interested in community service?
JLOEB is an organization of women who share a passion for “giving back to the community”. Members benefit from working side by side with women committed to voluntarism. Strong bonds of friendship develop when working on a Junior League project, participating in a training program or attending a social event.

JLOEB provides a system of training and support that allows women to cultivate and build upon their own strengths. Offering programs in a variety of subject matters; JLOEB develops the potential of our members. These include fundraising, event planning, advocacy skills, expanding interpersonal skills and financial management.

The Junior League is committed to developing the potential of women by empowering our members through extraordinary opportunities of leadership and personal growth.
5. International Organization
Are you interested in becoming involved with an international organization?
With 293 Leagues in four countries, we are working with our guiding organization, Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) to further develop the Junior League’s impact on communities around the world. Our current vision statement is, “The Junior League: Women Around the World as Catalysts for Lasting Community Change.”
