Junior League of Oakland-East Bay

As part of celebrating our 75th Anniversary year, the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay, Inc. is proud to announce our 3-year partnership with STAND! Against Domestic Violence, a Contra Costa County organization dedicated to stopping the cycle of domestic violence.  STAND! serves a crucial role in our local community by providing services to more than 10,000 local women and children with emergency shelter, a 24-hour crisis line, transitional housing, comprehensive prevention, legal support, clinical counseling, child therapy, childcare, community education, intervention, and treatment programs every year.  To learn more about STAND! and its phenomenal impact in our community, please visit www.standagainstdv.org.   

Working with STAND!, the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay will be providing enhanced resources and vocational training programs, starting with a computer lab.  We hope these resources result in the ability to provide scalable, ongoing resume writing, interviewing and computer training workshops, as well as access to information at the participants’ fingertips – ultimately preparing the women for today’s workforce and empowering them to move forward into a hopeful future.
