Junior League Kids in the Kitchen

Named as one of the East Bay's best cooking class providers, What’s Cooking offers interactive and educational cooking workshops for children, ages 2 1/2 through 19. In support of the Junior Leagues' Kids in the Kitchen campaign, Michelle Stern, founder of What's Cooking (http://www.whatscooking.info), is working with the JLOEB to help children and families better understand the links among physical activity, healthy lifestyle, good nutrition, and success in school.

“I firmly believe that the act of preparing nutritious meals brings families together and builds the foundation of a healthy lifestyle,” noted Michelle. “I am thrilled to be working with the Junior League as childhood obesity is reaching epidemic proportions and we can change this. In my approach to cooking with kids, I provide parents and caregivers with the tools and information to enable them to easily bring health messages and build healthy eating habits into their homes and daily routines.”

In addition to workshops, What’s Cooking offers helpful links for cooking with children including educational and fun food-related activities; nutrition, recipes and children’s cookbooks; educational benefits of cooking with kids and safety tips; and much more.
