LAFAYETTE, CA - Recognized in the East Bay for over 73 years as an organization that promotes voluntarism in woman and creative community service projects, the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay, Inc. (JLOEB) welcomes 53 new members this year.

“I am extremely excited that such a passionate group of women have decided to join the JLOEB - their many talents, experiences and can do attitudes will enrich both our league and our communities,” New Member chair Liz Cantwell said.  

The New Member committee hosted two Wine and Cheese Socials and a New Member orientation picnic over the summer that attracted prospective members.  The events put on by the New Member committee were well attended and 53 women became New Members of the League.

Founded in 1935, the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The JLOEB offers women the opportunity to implement change in the community in three major ways: projects, grants, and outreach. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
