JUNIOR LEAGUE OF OAKLAND-EAST BAY, INC.
SUSTAINERS KICK OFF 2006-2007 YEAR

Sustaining Council Hosts Fall Social and Cocktail Event

LAFAYETTE, CA - On Wednesday, September 27, from 6:30-8:30 pm, the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay, Inc. (JLOEB) Sustainer Council will open the 2006-2007 year with their annual Fall Social and Cocktail Event. Held at a private home in Alamo and open to all JLOEB sustainers and active Board Members, the event will provide an excellent opportunity for sustainers to meet the new council, get involved with fall fundraising events, meet the JLOEB active board, and spend time with new and old friends.

According to Sustainer co-council director, Allison Krutulis, "Our sustainers perform vital roles and represent an enormous talent base for the League itself and the communities the JLOEB serves."

For many Junior League members, making the transition from Active status to Sustainer status marks not the end of their dedication to the Junior League and the communities they serve, but instead signals a new chapter in their League career. Sustainers, especially at the JLOEB, remain actively involved in League work, serving as advisors to the Board, stepping in to mentor transfers and active members, working on active committees, acting as freelance team members, staffing League projects such as Done in a Day events and the annual Artful Living Home Tour, and more.
