The Junior League of Oakland East Bay welcomes its first African American President-Elect

The Junior League of Oakland East Bay welcomes its first African American President- Elect, Ericka Nicholes. Ericka has been in the league for 7 years as a leader in Public Relations, Training, and now as EVP. Ericka is a inspiring league member and leader who has made great impact in the League and the community. Ericka is originally from the East Bay and recently returned and has been serving the community and the league since the moment she arrived. In her role as EVP Ericka has quickly built and uplifted a team of women leaders, helped transition the league to a new way of working, and continually works to address challenges with grace and ingenuity. Professionally, Ericka’s is an accomplished professional in the Marketing and Community Relations field. Please join us in celebrating- Congratulations Ericka!

While there is a lot of work to be done to advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the League. Let us celebrate that we are making positive advancements towards having a more diverse and equitable leadership pool and let us also honor these women who have and continue to step up into these important roles. A diverse and inclusive set of leaders AND a diverse and inclusive League makes us all better and it makes us all stronger, which in turn enriches our own lives and benefits the communities within which we reside.
