The Junior League of Oakland-East Bay, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

Our 2010-2011 new member class is forming now with trainings beginning in early September.  If you missed  our informational events over the summer, you can still learn more about the League in general and  some specifics on what a new member can expect during her first year at our orientation on Saturday, September 11th. If you are interested in attending, please send an e-mail with your name, address and e-mail address to newmember@jloeb.org and we will provide you with additional details about  orientation and joining the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay.

7th Annual Artful Living Home Tour
November 5th & 6th, 2010 


The Junior League of Oakland-East Bay, Inc. will hold its 7th annual signature fundraiser, the Artful Living Home Tour on November 5th and 6th, 2010 in the Alamo / Diablo area. The tour is both unique and educational, focusing on architectural style, landscape design, interior design and furnishings and is sure to inspire tour participants to build or remodel their own dream homes. JLOEB Volunteers at Eat Real

 

Junior League of Oakland-East Bay volunteers helped stock glasses, stuff goody bags, pour wine and sell drink tickets at the Eat Real Festival in Jack London Square. Eat Real was founded in 2008 by a group of people who believe that delicious, convenient, affordable and sustainable food should be celebrated through an annual food festival. STAND! Technology Center Dedication

 

Our first year of working towards delivering the Technology Resource Center is complete. The Center was unveiled on Thursday, May 6, to a group of STAND! staff including Executive Director Gloria Sandoval, Director of Intervention and Housing Services Stacy Baird and Director of Finance Ken Carter, to name a few.  The Resource Center opened to its clients on Tuesday, May 18th. Congratulations to everyone who played a part in making this project a success! More...

What a difference a day makes!

Our Community Impact Committee is designed to tackle short-term community needs of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties which require volunteers for a single day. The activities most sought are those which directly support underserved children and their families.
