Management Team

2023–2024

The Junior League of Oakland-East Bay Management Team serves to carry out the mission of the League according to the strategic plan and direction of the League Board with the support of their committee members. The team makes operational decisions and policies using the mission and League strategic vision as context, aligns work across teams, optimizing cross-functional creativity and efficiencies, keeps the board updated on operations and processes, recommends goals and policies to the Board and keeps them updated on League activities.

 


 

Community Impact Committee

The Community Impact committee works together to organize a variety of community service projects that support women and children’s needs. They organize volunteer opportunities with organizations and agencies in Alameda and Contra Costa counties and develop relationships with organizations in JLOEB’s focus area. 

 

Semuteh FreemanSemuteh Freeman
Co-Vice President, Community Impact

Semuteh joined the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay in 2022 after being drawn to the opportunity to engage with community programs and build leadership skills. She is currently a Deputy Public Defender for the City and County of San Francisco and lives in Oakland with her husband and two children. She is excited about being in a leadership role in the Community Impact Committee and helping the league to connect with and support local nonprofits. She is passionate about social justice and loves to travel, slowly meander through museums, and discover new hiking trails and restaurants in Oakland and the surrounding areas.

 

Nneoma NwobilorNneoma Nwobilor
Co-Vice President, Community Impact

Nneoma joined the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay in 2022 as a New Member. She was drawn to the league because of the leadership opportunities and the chance  to serve and support  the marginalized and underserved communities in the East Bay. She is excited to be the Co-VP of Community Impact for 2023-2024 and is hoping to share her knowledge of critical thinking, project management, and developing new strategies and solutions that support the members of the Community Impact Committee. She currently works as consultant with a focus on Research and Evaluation at a non-profit consulting firm. Her hobbies include volunteering, reading, hiking, dancing, and traveling and learning about diverse cultures and traditions.



Marketing and Communications Committee

The Marketing and Communications Committee (MarCom) works on a variety of projects that interface with all Junior League members, as well as our external audiences. The MarCom Team is responsible for the JLOEB email newsletters, social media posts, and management of the JLOEB website as well as managing our photo library and maintaining the League brand.

 

Thelma AndreeThelma Andree
Vice President, Marketing and Communications

Thelma joined the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay in the fall of 2022. Thelma is the Production and Design Director at Fresh Eyes Digital, a digital fundraising and marketing agency for nonprofits. In her day job, you can find her creating campaign graphics and concepts, designing and building emails, setting up fundraising and advocacy landing pages, and exploring various nonprofit marketing tools in support of progressive nonprofits across North America. She has worked in the nonprofit space for most of the past decade and believes fully in paying it forward in the communities she calls home. Her favorite part about Junior League has been the relationships and connections she has made with like-minded women and incredible organizations in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Thelma was honored to be named New Member of the Year in 2022-2023, along with New Member Chair Molly Kreuzer. 

 



Membership Committee

The Membership Committee schedules and plans recruitment efforts for the New Member Class. In collaboration with MarCom they deploy external and internal campaigns to support recruitment. The committee focuses on creating opportunities for New Members to engage and connect with their fellow class as well as the League members at large. The membership committee actively works to weave New Members into the fabric of the League by providing opportunities to meet other members, attend League shifts and events, learn about our programs and partnerships, and establish a ‘felt’ sense of belongingness within JLOEB.

 

Morgan Davis

Morgan joined the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay in 2018 and for the last couple of years has been on every committee under the membership umbrella: member advisory committee and new member. This is her second year as VP of Membership with Lecie Tucker joining as Co-VP. She is most excited about helping create connections within the league through our member meetings and socials. Outside of work and Junior League, Morgan enjoys walking, baking sourdough and spending time with family.

Lecie joined the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay in 2022 and has felt fortunate to be part of such a great organization. This is her first year as Co-VP of Membership. She’s excited to plan fun social events throughout the league year with Morgan. Lecie is a chemical engineer by background and works for Chevron as the Renewables Execution Manager. Outside of work and Junior League, Lecie lives with her husband Josh and three rescue dogs in Walnut Creek. They love traveling, 49ers football, concerts, boating, and exploring the beautiful bay area.

 

Molly Kreuzer

Co-New Member Chair

Molly joined the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay in 2022 and has been grateful to meet fabulous civic minded women in the East Bay area. Outside of Junior League, Molly lives in Oakland and works for The Permanente Medical Group as a Practice Leader for Mental Health business consulting. Molly lives with her husband and new puppy. Together, they enjoy exploring the East Bay’s nature, food, and culture.

 

Akilah Crossdale

Co-New Member Chair
Akilah joined the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay in 2022. She was excited to meet women in her community and get involved in a more meaningful way. Coming from a background of development in performing arts non-profits, being a member of the Fund Development committee for JLOEB was a natural fit. She is happy to be serving as Co-chair with Molly. Akilah is the Senior Business Operations Manager for the Cloud Data & Storage team at eBay, and lives in Oakland with her two cats. You can often find her dancing, hiking, golfing, creating spreadsheets for travel, and listening to long form podcasts.

 


 

Training and Education Committee

The Training and Education Committee works to provide training opportunities relevant to bettering the lives and skills of our volunteer members. The committee also works towards increasing awareness of community issues within JLOEB’s focus area through connection to community events and League training opportunities. Committee members engage advocacy work to support Senior and Junior SPAC delegates representation of JLOEB’s voice in CalSPAC.

 

Emily MeansEmily K. Means
Vice President, Training and Education

Emily joined the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay in 2014 after spending a few years with the Junior League of Reno, and is happy to be back in California. She has served on MarCom, Membership, Fund Development, and is now excited to lead the Training and Education Committee for the second year. Emily is a professional photographer and when not behind the camera, you can find her walking a local trail, eating a burrito, or reading a good book.
